About

Hi, I’m Katelynn

I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker–Clinical (LCSW-C) providing virtual therapy across Maryland. I earned my BSW and MSW from Temple University and spent six years at Sheppard Pratt, working across crisis stabilization, mood disorders, and the inpatient unit at The Centers for Eating Disorders as part of a multidisciplinary team.

My own recovery

Coming home to the body

My approach to healing is deeply informed by my clinical experience, my somatic yoga practice, and my own recovery journey. For a long time, I lived in survival mode until I chose to lean into the inherent wisdom of the body. My personal journey shifted when I stepped onto a yoga mat. Through restorative and yin yoga, my interoceptive awareness, my ability to actually feel and connect with what was happening inside my body, came online.

I realized that my unhelpful thoughts weren’t who I was; rather, they were the manifestations of a dysregulated nervous system using eating disorder behaviors as adaptive survival skills. Holding stillness in those poses created space between my thoughts and my reactions, opening a path toward true mind-body integration.

In clinical practice

What I saw on the eating disorder unit

During my time working on the eating disorder unit, I saw this same dynamic play out in clinical settings. While cognitive work and behavioral management are crucial pieces of the puzzle, they are rarely enough on their own. Something essential is often missing: the body and co-regulation. Without learning to decode your nervous system and befriend your physical self, recovery can often feel incomplete.

Before the clinical work

What running taught me about the body

Long before my clinical career, my relationship with the body was shaped by my time as a collegiate distance runner. Experiencing firsthand what we demand of our physical selves, and how easily athletic performance and self-worth can become tangled together, informs every aspect of my practice today.

I embrace a harm reduction approach to healing: a compassionate, individualized method that prioritizes improving your quality of life while fostering autonomy in your recovery. In our sessions, I will meet you exactly where you are, offering an empowering and gentle framework to help you move beyond symptom management, honor your body’s wisdom, and step into lasting change.
I truly love seeing my clients come back home to themselves, and it would be an honor to walk this journey alongside you.
